Your health, beauty and general well-being:

Updated: Sep 8, 2018

Your health is very important to us, make sure to pack any chronic medication you need during the tour.

A lightweight medical kit is a must in case you take a tumble.

  • Medical Kit - 360 First Aid Climb/Hike

  • Retailer - Outdoor Warehouse

  • Price - 165 ZAR

If hygiene is important to you then I suggest taking the following items on route. I've included some examples of products and pricing:

  • Liquid Body Wash/shampoo combo

  • Toothbrush and toothpaste

  • Quick Dry Travel Towel - Trail Tech

  • Retailer - Mr Price Home

  • Price - around 150 ZAR

  • Weight - around 150 g

  • Quick Dry Pocket Towel - Trail Tech

  • Retailer - Mr Price Home

  • Price - 65 ZAR

  • Weight - 50 g

  • Ass Magic Chamois Cream

  • Retailer - Cycling shops

  • Price 160 ZAR

  • Size 100 ml

  • Underarm Deodorant of your choice

  • Insect Repellent

  • Sunblock

My wife came up with this great idea to pack only what is needed in small plastic containers.

So off to the local pharmacy to buy what looks like sample bottles, and it worked really well for storing shampoo/body wash, chamois cream and some smaller lotions. It is a good approach on saving much needed space.

Another benefit is that if you have used what you need for that day you can easily discard the empty bottle and even further lighten the load for the remainder of your tour.
